Video Games Halo collection’s matchmaking fix due Wednesday The player-matchup issues in the new Halo: The Master Chief Collection have been partially resolved on the back end, but the developer promises an update to fully patch the problem. The Master Chief Collection, the suite of individual Halo titles for the Xbox One, has suffered a matchmaking bug that makes it difficult to find players for multiplayer games. After the collection’s launch last Tuesday, Microsoft blamed the problem in part on the lack of available users due to the game’s gradual rollout across regions. But at this point, it’s clear that specific bugs have also played in a role. Halo developer Industries updated players about the situation on Saturday. Adjustments on the back end made some improvements in the connectivity required for matchmaking, the company said.

The player’s health bar is not visible, but players are instead equipped with a damage-absorbing shield that regenerates when not taking fire. For example, most Covenant weapons eschew disposable ammo clips for a contained battery, which cannot be replaced if depleted. However, these weapons can overheat if fired continuously for prolonged periods. The player can carry a total of eight grenades four human grenades, four Covenant to dislodge and disrupt enemies.
New in Halo 2 is the ability to board enemy vehicles that are near the player and traveling at low speeds. The player or AI latches onto the vehicle and forcibly ejects the other driver from the vehicle.

For many fans of the Halo franchise, today is supposed to be a big day. Microsoft has worked with Studios to assemble a truly massive collection of content, including four entire video games, and released it all as the Halo: Master Chief Collection bundle. This has been a huge undertaking for a couple of reasons, and finally having proper Halo titles on the Xbox One makes this something just about everyone would enjoy.
Unfortunately, reports have been rolling in since the game unlocked suggesting that this huge Halo collection has been delivered to us a little undercooked. The Master Chief Collection bundle is so much more than just four games in one. Since the game launched, though, players have encountered everything from audio tracks misbehaving to the game freezing and crashing when trying to load levels. At one point last night, multiplayer for all four games failed completely. All of these issues come on the heels of a 15GB patch to the game , which was already geared towards bugfixes and content issues.
While it seems like most of the issues are related to the new matchmaking setup in these games, the sheer volume of issues is significant.
